A New BRHS

Well, it's official. Bear River High School is under construction for the new & improved school. Yesterday the first part of the school came down. It was kind of fun being at work and watching it happen. They started with the girl's gym. It's going to be a crazy three years working at a school that is under construction, but in the long run it's going to be really nice.

Happy Birthday Kinley!!!

Wow, where does the time go? I can't believe this little girl is 4 years old. This tiny little 5 lb baby girl has turned into a little diva. Her world focuses on what she is going to wear, how she is going to wear her hair, what jewelry she will use to accessorize her outfit and what shoes look the best. She is in heaven when she gets to go one her daddy / daughter dates with Ted. She loves her dad and brothers so much and they treat her like a little princess. I truly feel bad for the boys when they start coming around. Having brothers so much older than you is bound to make them a little protective. When Kinley turns 16 her brothers will be 22 and 24. Crazy to think.

So, about her birthday, she loved her bike and hula hoop. She has been asking for these 2 items for over a month now. She also loved the necklaces that her brothers gave her. It got them both a great big hug. Her daddy took her for a special breakfast this morning just the 2 of them. She loved her butterfly cake (that one got me a great big hug, but seriously 3 hours to frost a cake, good thing it's only once a year). She had her little friend Candace over tonight for a party. They had a pinata that would not break open. So after they hit and hit and hit, Kinley finally laid it on the ground and beat it with the bat and then when that didn't work, tried stabbing it with the end of the broom. Her brothers finally had to help finish breaking it open.

I am so grateful to have this little girl in our lives. I love the baseball, football, wrestling and everything else the boys are involved in, but there is just something special about watching Kinley twirl in her tutu or playing make-believe or playing wedding (which I believe comes from seeing Ted take so many wedding pictures) or watching her and her dad have a princess tea party. She is such a fun part of our lives. I'm excited to see where this journey will take us. I hope I'm up to the challenge of being as good of a mom to her as my mom was and is to me.

Happy Birthday Kinley!! I can't wait to see what else is in store for us in the future!

Kinley's New Bedroom

One of the things Kinley is getting for her birthday is her room redecorated. It used to be light pink and green and very little girl looking. She wanted something that looked like a big girl's room. She chose the comforter set and helped pick most things out. She loves her new room and has been thanking me all day with each new thing that I hang or paint. She's in heaven. So Nikki and Abbey, these pics are for you.

Fun of the 4th Of July

We had a great week last week in Richfield for their 4th of July celebration. Matt (my brother) and his family were up from California for the week and everyone else was together for about 4 days. The boys spent one day 4-wheeling all day. The covered about 160 miles in the day. Us girls had a fun time shopping, laying out and just relaxing. We had a mean game of kickball one night and Mel & Tandy made a fun Scavenger Hunt game. Remember the old movie where they had to run around and get the most ridiculous things and bring them back to their station at the house, well that was us. It was a lot of fun. My dad had also just returned from Morocco. He had brought gifts for everyone. The little girls got hand carved, hand painted little jewelry boxes and us older girls got a hand painted bowl. There is a special name for it, but I can't remember right now. We also did family pics while we were all together. Here are a couple of pictures from our fun weekend. .
